Store all utensils out of children's reach. Demonstrate
and then let children practice using utensils. These can
include a whisk, measuring spoons, and a rolling pin.
Under close supervision, some children can use a vegetable
peeler and grater.
Adults only should use electrical appliances, such as
mixers, blenders frying pans or hot plates and stoves,
microwave ovens and toaster ovens.
Keep small appliance cords well out of the way of children.

Tips:
Check every child's record for any food allergy. If
someone gets an allergic reaction, have them stay away
from the preparations of that particular food, so they
will not be tempted and/or feel left out when unable to
join the cooking/eating experience.
Make sure all untensils are perfectly clean and sanitary
before using.
Make sure everyone cooking has clean hands before you
begin.
Children with obvious colds or infectious diseases should
not participate in any cooking experience.
Instruct children tin advance how to deal witha sneeze
or a cough. (cover mouth and turn away; then, wash hands
immediately.)
Children should not put food into their mouths while
cooking, unless instructed otherwise.
Make sure hot foods are thoroughly cooked. Any leftovers
should be quickly refrigerated.
Food should be fresh and of good quality. If a food
requires refridgeration, use it promptly. IF IN DOUBT
THROW IT OUT.
