Indoor Winter Fun

This activity was submitted by Danielle Howley- thank-you Danielle and look for our book store gift certficate coming your way!

Activity Idea:
Indoor Winter activity for children over 2 that could be
used for science, social studies, maths, language arts:

Bring some snow inside in an underbed storage bin, for example.
Create a winter scene with plastic animals whose natural habitat is snow
and cold weather.

Provide pieces of evergreens, plastic spoons to build hills and igloo,
sand molds, trucks to make tire tracks.

You could also build an umiak and sleds to talk about the Inuit culture
referring to the great children's book "Mama, do you love me"? by Barbara Josse.
